NAIROBI,Kenya,Nov 13 – Internal Security Raymond Omollo has called on all Kenyans to positively contribute to the collective efforts to meet the national target of planting 15 billion trees by 2032 and achieve a minimum of 30 percent forest cover nationally.

Kenya’s tree cover now stands at 12.13 percent, while forest cover is at 8.83 percent, up from 5.9 percent in 2018,according to the 2021 National Forest Resources Assessment (NFRA) Report.PS Omollo pointed out that the Kenya Kwanza administration recognizes the urgency of tackling climate change, citing the tree planting drive as one of the critical steps toward combating the challenges posed by climate change.
